First can we just say the Disney slate of live action movies this year is mind blowing! Dumbo officially kicks off 2019 with a reimagined story based on the 1941 Oscar-winning Disney classic. While we had both seen the original cartoon as kids, neither of us could remember the entire story. But Dumbo is such an iconic and classic character you can’t help but smile when you see the little guy, and who doesn’t love the Dumbo ride in the parks? With Tim Burton in charge, and state-of-the-art visual effects being used to portray Dumbo and many of his four-legged counterparts, we were intrigued to see if this new version would soar or crash. "Pandora – The World of Avatar" in Disney's Animal Kingdom (with gorgeous pics!)
It’s funny, back in the day we went on a date where we both were able to see our first 3D movie, which happened to be “Avatar”. While it may not be one of the top movies from a story perspective, it most definitely was a milestone in visual movie technology at the time. When Disney announced it was creating a new world based on the movie it seemed a bit odd and unrelated at first. But overtime we got used to the idea and we realized a storyline about the environmental could fit in well at the Animal Kingdom and the source material could lead to new technology and creativity for the Imagineers. After many years of waiting, anticipation kept growing as opening date approached. And this winter it was finally time for us to take a visit to “Pandora – The World of Avatar”. Last night we went out on a Tuesday to attend opening night of Finding Neverland, a hit Broadway musical now touring across the country. We Had Some FREE Valentine's Day Fun at the Disney Store This Year
Even though we love celebrating love and everyday life, we actually aren’t that big into Valentine’s Day. We typically will get cards for each other and then perhaps go out, or more than likely cook a dinner at home together, nothing too big. This year we heard that our local Disney Store was doing a holiday event especially for Disney loving pairs. We figured this free event could be a fun activity to do together. We decided to round out the budget friendly evening with a dinner deal at Qdoba first. Every Valentine’s Day they run a “Qdoba For a Kiss” promo where a smooch gets you a buy-one-get-one entree (Yum!). We enjoyed our burrito bowls and then headed off to the mall for some Disney fun…
