This weekend we completed a double Pilots’n’Paws rescue mission, flying two pets to their new fur-ever homes. Our day started boarding a Cessna 182 in the suburbs of Washington, DC. We flew over snow covered ground to the mountains of Western Maryland, where we picked our first passenger...

Disney's "A Wrinkle In Time" movie review: A Cosmic Journey with Good Intentions Falls Short
We are always intrigued to see if a books translated into film is successful, it can be hard to accomplish. As children neither of us got around to reading "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeleine L’Engle but Julie vividly remembers the cover that featured a centaur and rainbow and was always curious about the story. The trailer certainly was intriguing with shots of beautiful other worldly settings and a story that looked a tad creepy with a clip of cookie cutter children in a Stepford Wives looking town. This week we were invited to a screening and these are our thoughts...
Read MoreAulani – A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii: a Trip Review with 10 First Time Tips
Being huge Disney fans our bucket list includes many different destinations around the world. One of those happens to be an amazing resort in Hawaii. To celebrate a milestone anniversary we decided to make the long journey from the East Coast to this slice of paradise with a little bit of pixie dust. We knew that Aulani would be different than a Disney resort located near a theme park, but we also figured it would have some special magic too. Needless to say we absolutely loved it. Enjoy Some Disney Valentine's Day Fun
It may surprise some, but we actually don't make a big to-do about Valentine's Day. Now we do think celebrating love is super important but this holiday just gets a little low-key attention from us. And honestly we would rather save the money spent on a day like Valentine's Day and spend it on a Disney trip together. We both are romantics at heart and do love a good Disney love story so we couldn't help but dig up some links to Disney themed Valentine fun. Enjoy!

For our 10th Anniversary Celebration we planned a private reception in the Oak Room at Steakhouse 55. The restaurant is located within the Disneyland Hotel and is named for the year 1955, when the Disneyland Park opened. Steakhouse 55 takes you back to a bygone era of decadence with a dimly lit ambiance and feels vintage with dark-wood furnishings and black-and-white photos of movie and music luminaries of the era, including Walt Disney. As part of our 10 year Anniversary Celebration we wanted to capture some special photographs together. We decided to do an in-park shoot as well as capture family portraits and candids on the night of our celebration dinner.
We brought along our friend Ryan Hartford from Ecliptic Media Photo to capture some magical shots in the park. He is super talented and we can't wait to share the amazing moments he captured! We got up bright and early on a Tuesday morning rocking our Disney themed formal wear and got started at some of the resort areas before the park opened...

Our 10th Anniversary Disney Celebration (Part 2 of 4): "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" Group Disneyland Tour Review
Being Disney nerds, we are always interested in special events and behind the scenes offerings at Disney Parks. We really enjoyed the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour at Walt Disney World and decided that for our latest visit to Disneyland we should take advantage of being in such a historic place. “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” is roughly a three hour tour that takes guests through the history of Disneyland and Walt Disney himself. Along with the history of the park, guests experience three attractions without waiting and will also enjoy lunch served at the tour gardens just inside the park near the Main street USA train station. We were lucky enough to book an entire tour time (max of 15 people) for our whole large group. It ended up feeling like a private tour and we were even able to use our Disney Vacation Club discount of 15% off for everyone!
